Yellow Dog Marine Construction (MHIC #98771) is a licensed home improvement contractor through the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC). Not all contractors you encounter are licensed by the state; some home improvement contractors are only licensed by the county. A county license does not permit a contractor to perform work as a home improvement contractor. An MHIC license is required by the state of Maryland in order to perform home improvements which, as of July 1, 2008 now include all marine construction projects.
To protect your own interests, we encourage all of our current and potential customers to check to see if an individual or business is licensed before signing any contract. You can check online at the Maryland Home Improvement Commission website: http://www.dllr.state.md.us/pq/ where you can search for contractors by license number or business name. Yellow Dog Marine is one of the original members of the Maryland Marine Contractors Association. Established in 2008, the M.M.C.A. is a non-profit trade association dedicated to protecting and promoting the marine construction industry in Maryland.
